On March 16th, 2022, the Board of the European Forum of Deposit Insurers (EFDI) adopted the resolution to suspend the membership of the Deposit Insurance Agency (DIA) of Russia with immediate effect.

‘The war against Ukraine by Russia launched on February 24th has set out unprecedented retaliative measures in all spheres of life against the Russian Federation and its citizens. The coordinated sanctions also impact the international organizations, associations, including the BIS and IADI,’ – the EFDI Board’s resolution says.

The Deposit Guarantee Fund of Ukraine strongly welcomes this decision of the EFDI Board and expresses its deepest gratitude to the EFDI for the rigid stance on the Russian aggression against Ukraine.
